APP - Bone Marrow Transplant / Cell Therapy

Location: Main Campus (with potential coverage at Parma)

The MetroHealth System is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expanding Malignant and Cell Therapy Program. Since launching our Blood & Marrow Transplant Program, MetroHealth has achieved FACT accreditation for adult autologous and immune effector cell therapy, enhancing our ability to deliver advanced treatments including CAR-T and other cellular immunotherapies.

Position Overview

In this role, the APP will play a key part in supporting program growth and providing high-quality care to malignant hematology, blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy patients across Main Campus and satellite locations. This position offers a diverse clinical experience across multiple settings and the opportunity to develop specialized procedural skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide care in inpatient and ambulatory settings
  • Oversight of cellular therapy infusions
  • Participate in the care of malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy patients
  • Perform or learn to perform bone marrow and skin biopsies across Main Campus and satellite locations
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on complex hematologic and cellular therapy care


Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an APP is preferred
  • New graduates with oncology experience or strong oncology clinical training are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care


Required:
  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio (RN + APRN Certificate of Authority for NPs; PA license for Physician Assistants)
  • National board certification in specialty area (APRN or NCCPA as applicable)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
  • Obtain advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire
  • Eligible for and obtains clinical privileges within the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System; must report to the Medical Staff Office at time of hire to initiate credentialing
  • Maintains required collaborative/supervisory agreements in accordance with Ohio law
  • For NPs: Maintains a Standard Care Arrangement as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing

Physical Demands:
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods
  • May require lifting and carrying items up to 30 pounds
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures (e.g., bone marrow biopsies, central line management)
  • Requires visual and auditory acuity necessary to assess patient condition and operate clinical equipment
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and chemotherapy agents
  • Requires ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
