Summary:


Assists the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and entire attorney team in all legal matters. Under direction of the CLO and Deputy General Counsels provides advice to internal clients on healthcare regulatory matters, including federal, state and local laws and regulations, public law, pharmacy practice, Medicare and Medicaid issues, clinical health practice, intellectual property, and other matters. Directly represents, works with, and manages outside counsel on certain matters. Ensures cost efficient and timely delivery of legal services. Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive, values-based principles. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an ABA accredited law school Licensed to practice law in Ohio
  • Five years of experience in health care law
  • Strong knowledge of legal theory and practice and specific laws and regulations imposed on health care systems by various agencies
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical, research, problem-solving, and change management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and personal diplomacy skills
  • High level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, trustworthiness, and a high value on treating others with dignity and respect
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary, complex projects


Preferred:

  • Knowledge and experience in public law issues

Physical Demands:
