The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine, the MetroHealth System and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is seeking full-time, academic faculty members at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level with a focus on solid tumor oncology. Primary clinical interest in breast, lung, or gastrointestinal cancer is preferred. Applicants should possess excellent clinical skills, and have a strong interest in teaching, research, and active collaboration in multidisciplinary patient care. The qualified applicant must hold an MD or DO degree. All individuals will have completed a fellowship in adult hematology and/or oncology and be board certified or board eligible in hematology and/or oncology.
The Division of Hematology/Oncology has a growing faculty, with practices in multiple locations in the metropolitan Cleveland area. The division is comprised of the hematologic malignancy/cellular therapy section, solid tumor section, and led by the division chief. All cancer operations report to the Executive Director of the Cancer Institute. The essential functions of the position are to provide inpatient and outpatient consultations, longitudinal patient care, teaching and mentoring of internal medicine residents, hematology/oncology fellows, and medical students.
All faculty have many opportunities to participate in and lead clinical trials, with support for investigator-initiated studies, cooperative group trials, and translational research at MetroHealth, and through our affiliation with the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated consortium. Faculty are encouraged and supported to develop leadership roles within the Cancer Center and across our growing oncology programs. We are also proud to announce a newly established Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, offering faculty meaningful opportunities to mentor and train the next generation of oncologists. The successful candidate will have an appointment to the medical faculty of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Final rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidates qualifications and experience.
