Compensation Specialist

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8am - 5 pm Monday - Friday, Hybrid

Summary:


Participates in the administration and communication of non-bargaining and bargaining (union) compensation plans for The MetroHealth System (MHS). Conducts classification reviews and job audits. Composes and revises position descriptions. Participates in, conducts, and/or responds to salary and wage surveys, market reviews, and pay compression studies. Analyzes salary data and makes recommendations regarding salary placement. Reviews and makes salary recommendations for new hires, internal promotions, reclassifications, and other employee actions. Ensures consistency, internal equity, and external market competitiveness of requested actions/recommendations as well as compliance with compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. Progressive and relevant experience in Human Resources. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including designing and building spreadsheets. Detail oriented with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Ability to organize and summarize data, make recommendations, and prepare leadership-ready reports and communications. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of leadership, employees, and members of the HR team. Ability to manage multiple communications, projects, objectives, and deadlines. Knowledge of relevant labor laws. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines consistently. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Two years of Human Resources experience One year of professional Compensation experience. Human Resources experience in health care. Experience with Infor GHR or Lawson HRIS. Familiarity with Access/databases, pivot tables, graphics, and reports. Human Resources certification: PHR, SHRM-CP, or CCP. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
