Our Culture
Our Culture
Committed
to respect
and inclusion.
Made for this mission.
At MetroHealth, our vision is to be the nation's most admired public health system, renowned for our innovation, outcomes and service. We have a long history of mission-based care, and the culture we foster is instrumental in our impact. We live out our values every day, in an environment where we celebrate our differences, uplift our individual successes, respect everyone and deliver high standards to every patient seeking our care.
Why MetroHealth?
-
You can share our unwavering commitment to the community, with the opportunity to care for patients from all walks of life and in many types of practice settings. More than 20% of our operating expenses are devoted to community programs.
-
We are national leaders in health care and research, including an NIH-designated Center of Excellence in health disparities and community-based participatory research.
-
We are committed to training and developing the next generation of health care providers. We've been affiliated since 1914 with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, one of the nation's top 25 medical schools.
-
We have a growing network of more than 20 community health centers throughout the county, bringing care to where people live, work and play.
Devoted to Honoring Diversity
With a host of diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives, we offer an environment that is truly inclusive and honors the unique voices of everyone who is a part of our network. Each year, about 50% of the physicians and 33% of the nurses hired represent racial, ethnic and/or gender diversity. We invite you to share our dynamic workplace where everyone can be part of the success.
Our Diversity Initiatives
With a diversity committee comprised of 14 stakeholders and leaders, we ensure a consistent plan of execution across our organization through a wide array of initiatives, including:
- A mentoring program to provide employees with an avenue for professional development and personal growth
- Month-long history and awareness-building activities (Black History, Women's History, Disabilities Awareness, Hispanic Heritage, LGBTQ and others)
- Training and professional development courses such as Unconscious Bias in the Workplace, SafeZone Training (LGBTQ), Engaging a Diverse Workforce and more
