High-Risk Breast Health APP

The MetroHealth Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a highly motivated, adaptable APRN interested in joining Breast Health Team

The Breast Health Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. The APRN will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients at high risk for breast cancer and in survivorship, offering preventative strategies, early detection, and coordinated care throughout the continuum. This position requires a compassionate provider who is committed to patient-centered care and has a strong background in breast health, oncology, or women's health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and risk assessments for breast cancer.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, genetic counselors, and other healthcare professionals.

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and lab results, to monitor patient health and detect early signs of breast cancer.

• Provide patient education on breast cancer risk factors, prevention strategies, and the importance of regular screenings.

• Manage follow-up care, including monitoring treatment outcomes, managing side effects, and adjusting care plans as necessary.

• Coordinate referrals to specialists, such as oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons, ensuring seamless patient care.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

• Stay current with the latest research, guidelines, and advancements in breast health and oncology to provide evidence-based care.

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.

• Engage in community outreach and education efforts to promote breast health awareness and early detection initiatives.

Qualifications:
Required:

Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.
provided training within 90 days of hire.

Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges

Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.

Preferred:

One or more years of patient clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously; capable of providing care without physician supervision although the incumbent will be a part of a team of APRNs in the City Clinics. Preferred certification through a Family (FNP) or Adult Geriatrics (AG) program.
