Summary:
Responsible for reviewing all payor websites and updating patient coverage to ensure accurate and timely insurance claims submission, optimizing net revenue collections. Upholds the mission, vision, values and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Knowledge of medical terminology. Proven proficient ability to use independent judgment, analytical/decision-making skills, human relation skills, team working skills, and organizational skills. Knowledge of medical as well as insurance terminology is required. Ability to understand and communicate financial information. Proficient with Spreadsheet (Excel), Word Processing (Word), and Database (Access) Software programs. Successful completion of Certified Revenue Cycle Certification obtained within one year of employment.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, business or other health care related experience. Previous experience with computer-based billing systems. Previous experience in Epic physician and/or hospital billing.
Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
