Summary:
Manages the daily facilities maintenance operations to provide a safe working environment and repair of assigned systems and areas that serve the MetroHealth System complex, and to ensure maximum uptime. Develops and manages designated facility related projects utilizing in-house workforce, and outside contractors and design professionals, as required. Supports the Planning, Design and Construction Department, Campus Transformation, and any work on our campuses, as necessary. Works closely with other departments to ensure that the Facilities program(s) fully support the clinical and operational compliance programs. Provides experienced technical support for the maintenance and operation of assigned buildings, systems, infrastructure components, finishes and utilities. Manages building systems and equipment in accordance with regulatory standards and appropriate industry practices, including maintaining required documentation. Develops and manages a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for assigned facilities systems. Manages a multi-disciplined skilled trades staff and coordinates the workflow, administrative and analytical functions within the area of Facilities Management using tools such as a computerized maintenance management software program to schedule, monitor and analyze workflow. Manages day-to-day compliance of financial and operational issues. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam Journeyman status in an applicable trade or 4 years of equivalent experience. Two years of supervisory experience in a maintenance function or 7 years of progressive work in a healthcare environment Proven communication skills to successfully manage and interact with a diverse population of staff and clients. Strong oral and written communication skills. Technical training on the majority of the following disciplines, with expertise in at least one: electrical, emergency power, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmithing, painting, fire protection, medical air, gas and vacuum Ability to read blue prints. Excellent record keeping and analytical skills. Understanding of energy management principles. Successful completion of a managerial training program within 12 months of employment. Skilled in the use of computer basics, including e-mail, word processing, and the use of spreadsheets. Physically capable of performing frequent inspections of all areas within and around buildings, including but not limited to, all departments, utility tunnels, roofs, equipment rooms and construction sites. Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field Applicable State of Ohio Contractors License Working knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA, ADA, OBC Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Dexterity to use computer.
