Shift: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday

Summary:


Performs nutrition assessments/nutrition education activities for infant through adult applicants/participants in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Executes all tasks while following the WIC Federal Regulations, the WIC Policies and Procedures for the State of Ohio, the WIC Nutrition Education Plan for the State of Ohio, and the Cuyahoga County Local Nutrition Education Plan. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved program, AND has completed a supervised practicum.

Currently a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Licensed Dietitian (LD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Possess and maintain a current Dietitian license from the CDR for the State of Ohio.

Literacy and language skills appropriate to address the needs of diverse participants.

Must be willing to travel to any WIC Clinic in Cuyahoga County.

Preferred Master's degree from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved program with a focus in Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition.

Currently a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP), or has completed other certified breastfeeding training.

1 year of experience in maternal and/or child nutrition, including breastfeeding education.

Current member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Previous experience in a WIC office.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.

Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals.
