Shift: 11AM-7Pm rotating

Summary:


Assists the Anesthesia care provider with acquiring, preparing and use of equipment and supplies during the administration of anesthesia. Responsible for maintaining anesthesia equipment, i.e., setting up, calibrating, cleaning, and performing minor repairs. Participates in all aspects of operating room cleanup and setup to facilitate efficient turnover between surgical cases. Takes inventory and maintains anesthesia cart supplies in all anesthesia locations throughout the system. Assists with patient transport and assists in the return of equipment to designated storage area upon completion. Performs routine and delegated duties according to MH System policies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Experience in perioperative protocols (i.e., sterile technique and field avoidance), sterilization, or clinical sanitation. Good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Reliable transportation to travel to various MetroHealth facilities and other locations as needed. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: College level coursework in biology and/or chemistry. Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.). Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS); expected completion within 6 months of hiring. One or more years of experience in clinical anesthesia, allied health, nursing, military medical support or successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or similar healthcare-related training program. Graduate of an American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) approved educational program. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to move, push, pull, and/or lift equipment and inventory. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
