Summary:
Job Summary: Serves as primary point of HR contact for leadership of assigned departments and functions across The MetroHealth System (MHS). Recommends and handles resolution of a variety of day-to-day HR issues and investigations. Provides HR strategy consultation in conjunction with senior members of the HR Business Partner Services team and with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) teams. Work may be related to such areas as employee relations, compliance with System policies and procedures, labor relations and union contracts, employee performance and discipline, training and development, leaves of absence, and disability accommodation. Assists in the handling of internal and external complaints and grievances. Proactively reviews policies and practices for effectiveness and appropriateness, and implements changes. Maintains metrics necessary to monitor the effectiveness of HR programs. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, in addition to the experience stated below.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, or five years of progressively responsible management experience addressing a variety of HR issues and approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adjust style as needed to develop effective relationships with all levels of leadership, employees and peers.
Preferred: Master's Degree with emphasis in Human Resource Management. Five years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources. Experience in managing EEO issues, FMLA, and disability accommodation. Experience in labor contract negotiations, interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, and grievance processes. Certified HR Professional through SHRM (CP/SCP) or HRCI (PHR/SPHR). Experience with Lawson or other HRIS systems. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read policies, grievances, charges, industry guidance, etc. Ability to use computer.
