Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER
Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: M-F, w/ rotating wknds and holi; 3p-11:30p

Summary:
Performs a subset of Clinical Pathology laboratory tests of various complexities, with minimal technical supervision, following procedural guidelines and professional standards. Analyzes body fluids, such as blood, urine and tissue samples, and record normal or abnormal findings. Ensures all testing performed adheres to departmental guidelines, safety and regulatory requirements, and quality control standards. Identifies and recommends improvements in operating procedures. Provides training to laboratory staff and residents. Cooperates with a diverse group of people and skill levels in performing daily operational tasks. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program and departmental policies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, OR Bachelor's degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent, that includes either: • 24 semester hours of Medical Laboratory Technology courses, OR • 24 semester hours - 6 chemistry, 6 biology, and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology, in any combination. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Reliable mode of transportation and ability to rotate locations within The MetroHealth System. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Bachelor of Science with 3 years of medical laboratory experience. Experience with laboratory equipment and computer systems. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
