Summary:
Completes a variety of tasks that contribute to the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including administrative, analytical, and customer service tasks related to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) employer portal. Prepares and/or reviews various payroll deductions. Assists the Payroll leadership team with weekly and monthly tax withholding reconciliations. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. 3 years of payroll experience. Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong trouble shooting skills. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite. Proficient data entry skills, including 10-key abilities. Ability to handle stressful situations and meet urgent deadlines. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or another related field. Experience with Kronos Workforce Timekeeper. Experience with the Lawson Payroll module. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
