Pharmacy Quality Resource Specialist

Shift: 7am to 4pm

Summary:


Assures that all scheduled Department quality control/quality assurance audits and analyses are completed in a timely manner, and that collected metrics are aggregated into an organized format for subsequent review, analysis, and utilization by the department's management/leadership team. Responsible for collaborating with the management team to determine areas of needed quality improvements (i.e., develop Quality Improvement Plans). Monitors compliance with Quality Improvement Plans by conducting routine, focused audits or assuring their completion by assigned staff. Develops and submits reports and trend analyses of quality metrics obtained via the completed audits. Conducts necessary staff training and orientation to assure that personnel adhere to expected quality standards in their work performance. Assists with implementation of corrective actions to enhance patient safety, efficiency, and effectiveness relative to medication use. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Must be eighteen years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42. Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Healthcareer Association. Maintains certification throughout the course of employment. Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy or obtains within 90 days of hire. Maintains registration throughout the course of employment. Reliable transportation, and willing to travel to and work at other locations as needed. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Minimum of three years of MetroHealth experience as a Pharmacy Technician or five years of Pharmacy Technician experience in a teaching hospital. Experience performing nursing unit inspections. Associates Degree in related field. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to biohazardous chemicals.
