Summary:
Responsible for taking food orders through direct patient/customer contact and providing excellent food related services. With limited direction performs a variety of clerical duties supporting the Food and Nutrition Services Department. Retrieves, maintains, and/or replaces records/files. Processes patient meal information into the CBORD Nutrition Service Suite program.
Qualifications:
Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Electronic competency to work with the various software programs Strong customer service skills, including effective listening skills. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to perform basic math functions. Must pass a food and nutrition skills competency within 6-month introductory period Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of basic principles of nutrition as related to therapeutic diets. 1 year of experience working in a hospital setting. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
