Because of the strong commitment to the needs of the community, the MetroHealth System is building a new 110-bed inpatient behavioral health hospital in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with specialized units serving adolescents, geriatrics, adult psychiatric intensive care, adult substance use disorders, adult thought disorders, and adult mood disorders. Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment programs will be attached to this hospital as well.
We're growing and we are seeking highly motivated, adaptable individuals with an interest in delivering excellent healthcare as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for the following:
- Adult inpatient nocturnist
- Adolescent inpatient

Summary:
Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurses education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Requirements to be considered
- MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code
- Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program
- Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty PMHNP.
- One or more years of inpatient clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously; capable of providing care without physician supervision
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire.
- Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire
- Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges
- Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.
