Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse's education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code
Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program
Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio
Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing
Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire.
Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire
Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges.
Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing
Preferred:
Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing
Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.
Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
