Summary:
In collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, performs tasks to ensure that patients have financial clearance for patient transportation for the date of service, including but not limited to monthly reconciliations, insurance verifications, pre-certifications and authorizations for services, and patient estimates. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of the MetroHealth System.

Required:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare, or other related field. Knowledge of third-party payer information systems and portals.
Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare, or other related field, or previous experience in patient transportation, or 1 year of experience in role-related field.
- Knowledge of general medical terminology.
- Knowledge of software programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
