Customer Service Advocate PFS-Revenue Cycle

Shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm

S ummary:

Serves as a liaison between patients and internal customers to assist patients with financial resolving all self-pay account balances from both technical and professional billing systems. Promotes the proactive processing of patients' financial statuses, and provides direction to Medicaid Assistance or Financial Assistance Programs. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.


Required: Associate Degree in Business or Healthcare from an accredited institution. In lieu of a degree, 5 years of experience working with self-pay populations. 3 years of experience working with self-pay populations. Excellent customer service skills. Basic knowledge of Financial Assistance Programs. Maintains basic knowledge of the rules/regulations associated with the Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other entities. Strong analytical and decision making skills. Ability to work independently and/or with a team. Preferred: None Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
