Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered and Licensed Dietitian (RD/LD), plans/delivers nutrition and breastfeeding education to Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program participants within the framework of the WIC federal regulations, Ohio State WIC policies/procedures, and Cuyahoga County WIC policies/procedures. Assists the clinical flow and/or operations of the clinic by answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, helping determine the program eligibility of the caller, and performing registration functions. Issues and explains the WIC Nutrition Card (WNC) based on clinic needs and staffing levels. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Required: Associate Degree in nutrition/dietetics from a collegiate program approved by the American Dietetic Association or the Ohio Board of Dietetics. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.). Proficient in virtual meetings (i.e., Teams, WebEx, Zoom, etc.). Must have access to reliable transportation and be willing to travel to any WIC location based on operational needs. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Experience in a WIC clinic, or other related work/volunteer experience and/or education. Experience in a high-volume office or patient registration area within a public health organization. Fluency in writing, speaking, and interpreting both English and another language. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
