Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.
Summary:
Develops and executes a strategic vision to advance MetroHealth's commitment to health equity through donor and community engagement, sponsorships, events, and strategic partnerships. The Executive Director oversees the development and execution of major events for The MetroHealth System and The MetroHealth Foundation and serves as the project manager for the Multicultural Health Fairs & Expos. Strategically manages a portfolio of 15-20 local, regional, and national prospects, with responsibility for meeting annual goals including philanthropy attainment and metrics. Works collaboratively with the CDO, the Executive Director, Philanthropy and the Executive Director, Community Health, Engagement, and Impact to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward support from corporations, small businesses, and other funders to fully underwrite the costs of MetroHealth's health equity events, community outreach efforts, special events and other related initiatives. Works closely with philanthropy and community health, engagement and impact staff, MetroHealth's Chief Health Equity Officer, The MetroHealth Foundation Board of Directors and senior leadership. Serves in a critical leadership role as a member of the department's executive team. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. 10 or more years of nonprofit leadership experience successfully leading and implementing programs, philanthropy, staff and volunteers. 10 or more years of planning and executing large, complex special events with multiple stakeholders. 10 or more years of major campaign, fundraising, corporate donor/sponsorship portfolio management experience. Proven ability to design, implement, and sustain community and business partnerships. Progressive leadership experience that includes staff supervision, budget management, and proven track record of job-related accomplishments. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management. Excellent project management skills, with keen attention to detail Ability to handle multiple priorities from various constituents with tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Proven level of comfort engaging with corporate and community leaders and influencers Proven employee motivation, problem-solving, and organizational skills along with the ability to work in a team environment. Strong leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills. Ability to analyze complex problems and develop recommendations and solutions. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Master's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field Extensive and longstanding network of corporate and community contacts that could positively impact position. Experience in the healthcare industry Knowledge and understanding of the core mission, objectives, and functions of a public hospital system. Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job-related documents.
