Legal Office Assistant - General Counsel


Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8am - 5pm

Provides legal assistance to the General Counsels, lawyers, operations manager, and paralegals. Provides a full spectrum of administrative support for the Office of General Counsel. Contributes to the timely completion of special projects as assigned. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.


Required: Associate's Degree in a Legal, Business, or other related field from an accredited institution, or 3 years of experience in a legal office environment will be accepted in lieu of a degree. Experience working in as an executive/administrative assistant, or in a position requiring the performance of high-level administrative duties. Experience working with sensitive and/or confidential information. Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to work with complex Excel spreadsheets. Strong analytical skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent organization skills, and able to direct one's own work. Ability to work independently, and as a member of a team. Ability to accept increasing levels of responsibility. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a Legal, Business, or other related field from an accredited institution. Proficiency with legal and/or billing software systems. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
