Summary:
Manages daily activities and staff who provides safety testing, repairs, calibrates, inspects, and performs preventive maintenance diagnostic and therapeutic patient care equipment for the entire System. Works in a project management and informatics coordinator capacity to ensure interdepartmental operability system-wide. Helps facilitate safe, timely, efficient, and equitable delivery of care. Oversees contract management, safety alerts and recalls, and other supply chain-related duties in the department. Helps ensures the Clinical Engineering function complies with The Joint Commission® (TJC) and other regulatory, accreditation, and inspection agency requirements, guidelines, and standards.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field and 3 years of related healthcare experience. In lieu of a degree, 5 years of related work experience. Demonstrated supervisory/management experience. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical engineering practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Budget, project management, and strategic planning skills and experience. Evidence of continuing professional self-development. Proven leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Clinical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology. 7 years of relevant hospital experience. Hospital experience in Clinical Engineering or Information Technology fields. Experience using Clinical Engineering asset management software. Experience in the lead "supervisory" experience role. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job-related documents. Ability to use a computer.
