Summary:
Completes a variety of tasks that contribute to the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including administrative, analytical, and customer service tasks. Based on assignment, focuses on setup, maintenance, reporting, and disbursements for local, federal, and state taxes and/or OPERS. Sets up and executes the processing of garnishments, child support, terminal payouts, tuition repayment, and bankruptcy orders. Performs additional tasks that support the by-weekly processing of payroll. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Experience executing payroll in a large ERP-type environment/system or related financial administration experience. Experience with payroll taxes including balancing, resolving issues, and other related tasks. Robust knowledge of federal, state, and local withholding taxes. High level of proficiency in Excel, with strong keyboarding and 10-key skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong customer services skills. Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Bachelor's degree, Demonstrated knowledge of payroll regulations and industry standards. Payroll experience in the healthcare industry. Infor/Lawson Payroll system experience. Kronos Workforce Timekeeper experience. Experience in processing tax payments for federal, state, and local taxes. Experience in OPERS processing. Experience with BSI tax software. Experience processing 941 tax returns and Ohio Unemployment Insurance payments. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
