Neurosurgery Physician Assistant, Surgical Assistant
Rotating shifts, including weekends & evenings
In collaboration with a physician, these professionals will deliver direct patient care, including identification, management and/or referral of health problem in Neurosurgery. Offering pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, these individuals will be responsible for neurosurgery call coverage with inpatient management and/or OR assist.

S ummary:
Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with a physician that includes identification, management and/or referral of health problems. Promotes consumer, family, or community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. Manages complex illnesses and delivers specialty care. Functions in a supportive role to provide optimum care to surgical patients. Duties encompass the pre-, intra- and post-operative phases. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
Qualifications:
Required: Graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program Current licensure in the State of Ohio Graduate of an approved formal training program for Surgical Assisting or appropriate related certification from an approved military Surgical Assisting Program Knowledgeable in the use of sterile technique and aseptic practices Knowledgeable regarding medications used in an Outpatient Surgical Environment Demonstrated knowledge of suture material and different types of skin stitches Ability to prioritize work assignments and maintain flexibility in a fact-paced environment Must meet the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges with The MetroHealth System within 90 days of placement within position, and must maintain privileges) Preferred: One year of surgical assisting experience

- Current licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Graduate of an approved formal training program for surgical assisting or appropriate related certification from an approved military surgical assisting program.
- Neurosurgery or spine experience.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges with The MetroHealth System within 90 days of placement within position and maintain privileges.
Preferred Credentials:
- One or more years of clinical experience in neurosurgery or spine surgery
