Surgery Trauma Physicians

MetroHealth - Case Western Reserve University

Trauma / Acute Care Surgeon

The Department of Surgery at the MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio, is accepting applications for a full-time academic surgeon in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Burns, and Emergency General Surgery. Successful candidates should be board-certified/eligible in General Surgery and have additional qualifications in Surgical Critical Care.

We are seeking a full-time faculty commitment from surgeons interested in providing high quality care to our patients and who have a strong interest in teaching.  Our group prides itself on how well we work together to provide care to over 12,000 trauma activations across the system, with over 2000 trauma admissions to our Level I center. We are looking for team players who are interested in developing their academic career and leadership skills.  We have expanded MetroHealth trauma services and provide trauma and acute care surgery services at the Level I center and multiple Level III trauma centers across the region. Research opportunities are available.  All of our surgeons spend significant time at the Level I center with various amounts of time spent at the Level IIIs tailored to their interests and needs.

We have a critical care fellowship and our own surgical residency program.  We also train residents from all over the region including many ED residents, Cleveland Clinic surgery residents, and other residency programs across the region.  There is opportunity for leadership development and growth locally, regionally, and nationally.  The MetroHealth System is a large teaching hospital that is part of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  The 700+ bed main campus hospital is an ACS verified Level I adult trauma, Level II pediatric trauma, and Level I burn center.  We just opened a new state-of-the-art hospital called the Glick Center.

In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed to Equal Opportunity and World Class Diversity. We look forward to discussing the opportunities.
