Vice President- Access to Care

Responsible for system-wide patient access into ambulatory clinical operations and for the overall management and effectiveness of the Network Service Center and Ambulatory Access functions. Ensures systems are in place to ensure the expedient and proper routing of all incoming calls regarding physicians' appointments. Manages multiple projects, facilitates multidisciplinary groups, and implements improvement strategies and tools. Builds internal and external customer loyalty by setting customer service expectations that ultimately lead to an enhanced patient experience. Collaborates with clinical leaders and staff to successfully integrate efficiency and quality improvements while focusing on implementing new care delivery processes. Develops staff, collaborates with physicians and continually improves processes. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.



Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.

Ten years of progressive management experience.

Direct experience with customer relations, problem solving and conflict management.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Ability to plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate activities and projects.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Demonstrated leadership, communication, mentoring, customer service and excellent interpersonal skills required along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.

Strong analytic and decision making abilities.

Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.

Exceptional communication skills - written, verbal, and listening.


Master's Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.

Healthcare experience in physician referral development. EPIC credentials.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
