S ummary:
Assists the Ophthalmologist and Optometrist in the Eye Clinic by collecting data, chart review, and administering ancillary testing ordered by an Ophthalmologist and Optometrist. Performs routine screening tests, such as vision and glasses checks. Provides skilled care to patients, ages adolescence through adult.
Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Must be able to provide accurate testing results for Visual Fields, OCT testing, etc. Satisfactory passing of training modules within the first 90 days of hire. Access to reliable transportation to travel to different sites within the Ambulatory Network Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and disciplines. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Three months of work experience as a Visual Field Technician. BLS Certification from the AHA within 6 months of hire. JCAHPO Visual Field Certificate Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
