The on-the-job training helped me further my career without having to go back to school.
I got my job as an X-Ray Technologist in 2001 and haven’t looked back. I am now a Lead Radiology Technologist, and I help manage a crew of five other caregivers. The incredible colleagues and opportunities to keep growing are what keep me here. All my life I’ve had people helping me out, and now I’m happily paying it back.
I worked really hard to get this career and I am just so happy that I’m here. Every day I wake up for my family, my kids, and this mission. Everybody has everyone’s back here – we look after each other and we have fun. Everything is so exciting because you can learn so much and there are plenty of areas you can grow into.
The fact that everyone at MetroHealth works as a team is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job. We all work together to contribute to a tranquil environment, and it’s satisfying to see how well this teamwork makes things run smoothly. Our patients are treated with dignity and joy.
The most satisfying aspect of my work is definitely the patients. My love for scanning quickly took a backseat to the satisfaction I get from knowing I helped patients in multiple ways; from finding answers about their health to capturing the proper images that doctors need to provide life-saving care, and beyond. Here I utilize each and every one of my skills, and that gives me purpose and personal fulfillment.
I came to MetroHealth as a second-year ultrasound student 10 years ago, and I’m now supervisor of my department. There are great opportunities for growth and advancement at MetroHealth, and we are all a big family here. Everyone watches out for one another and jumps in to help when needed. This is a great place to work!
I started as a radiology student, and by the time I finished my clinicals I knew that I wanted to stay and work here. I went from a student to a technologist and am now part of the Radiology Administration team. MetroHealth is committed to helping all people in our community, and the people I work with are committed to providing the best care for our patients. I can’t think of a better place to work!
The most satisfying aspect of my job is leaving work every day feeling accomplished and feeling like I’m growing and learning as an ultrasound tech. My coworkers are amazing and make work super fun, but they also take pride in their work and how they care for their patients. MetroHealth makes me feel safe and accepted.
The thing that attracted me to work at MetroHealth is how positive everyone is. The thing that sets them apart from other companies is the emphasis of the inclusivity of marginalized groups such as the LGBTQ+ Pride Network. It is great working for a company that acknowledges specialized care within specific groups of people.
