Aprn Provider - Ambulatory-Geriatrics Cleve Hts

The MetroHealth System Department of Geriatrics is Seeking an experienced Geriatric APRN to work 50% in our Red Carpet program and 50% in General Geriatrics at Cleveland Heights. Also willing to work with younger patients as well in our Red Carpet Medicaid Clinic. Provider should have experience as home visits may be required in the future. Some weekend shifts may be involved. We are seeking providers with a passion for clinical care, process improvement and excellent quality of care.

Position Requirements & Benefits

Required:

• MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program

• Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire.

• Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing

• Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.

Preferred:

• Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing

• 2 years Nurse Practitioner experience

• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, geriatrics, ICU, or ER

• Bilingual (Spanish)

Summary:


Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse's education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
