Practice Support Specialist - Neurosurgery

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: Mon-Fri, 8:00a-4:30p

Primary skills utilized:
  • Maintain templates for outpatient clinics
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Answer patient phone calls and triage inquiries
  • Assist with patient forms and survey completion
  • Track insurance authorizations
  • Coordinate procedure room and provider visits
  • Manage provider schedules and site rotations
  • Serve as the initial contact for patients, visitors, and the general public
  • Screen calls and visitors per office protocols

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Internet tools
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service
  • Effective problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
  • Comfortable communicating with a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in a medical practice or educational/medical research setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology


Physical Demands:
This role may require intermittent movement throughout the day, including sitting, standing, bending, and walking. Candidates should be able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via email, and must be able to read documents and use a computer regularly.
