Summary:
Focuses on the financial bottom line for low-to-moderate income individuals. Advises financial behavior on ways to make long-term commitments to increasing income, decreasing expenses, and acquiring assets. Addresses non-clinical factors known as social determinants of health (SDOH) by offering financial coaching, job training and community health supports. Uses strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills to facilitate financial coaching while simultaneously assisting with the integration of services into other MetroHealth organizational and community initiatives. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Social Work, Public Administration, Social Services, or related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Two years of experience working with community-based organizations or social service agencies in financial empowerment.
Experience serving at-risk and/or low-to-moderate income populations.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in employment, financial and income support coaching, counseling, and personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting, asset, and credit building.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Detail oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
Experience with diverse population, and/or the ability to provide financial counseling/coaching services in a culturally sensitive manner.
Fluent in Spanish.
Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Ability to communicate in person, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
