Manager-Radiation Oncology

Summary:


Provides operational leadership for a hospital-based Radiation Oncology department, overseeing clinical operations, staffing, quality, safety, compliance, and financial performance across Trilogy, TrueBeam, and CT Simulation units. Partners with physicians, medical physics, dosimetry, nursing, revenue cycle, compliance, and IT teams to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and financially sound radiation therapy services. Supports academic, educational, and programmatic goals while providing hands-on clinical coverage as needed and maintaining oversight of departmental operations, clinical systems, billing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.

Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-RT[T]) and active Radiation Therapist Radiologic license from the Ohio Department of Health.

BLS certification.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in radiation oncology or a closely related clinical area, including demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.

Prior leadership or supervisory experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of radiation oncology operations, safety, regulatory requirements.

Experience using Epic, ARIA, or comparable oncology/EHR systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong critical thinking, analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred:

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

Formal training or experience in Quality Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA)

Experience with revenue cycle processes in a healthcare or oncology setting.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 35 pounds. Ability to push/pull over 100 lbs. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals.
