Supervisor- Central Sterile Processing & Central Supply

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: Variable Shifts; 7a-3:30p, 3p-11:30p, 11p-7:30a

Position Summary:

  • Provides direct supervision in the reprocessing, and maintenance of reusable instrumentation, medical supplies, and equipment used in the health care facility.
  • Oversees distribution of instruments and supplies to surgery via a case cart system, ensuring efficient and timely flow.
  • Oversees assigned activities to the department to ensure quality, productivity, and performance expectations are met.
  • Coordinates orientation, training, and scheduling of central sterile processing personnel.
  • Monitors the productivity and effectiveness of the Central Sterile Processing Department.
  • Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • 2 years of recent operating room or sterile processing experience with general knowledge of instrument processing technology and experience training team members.
  • Certification by a national agency in sterile processing within 6 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated PC proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Case cart management experience
  • Lean or equivalent process improvement experience
Physical Demands:

  • May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
  • May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
  • Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
  • Ability to read job related documents.
