Manager- Facilities Compliance

Summary:


Leads, coordinates, and integrates the compliance program for all MetroHealth System facilities across all geographic locations. Ensures adherence to federal, state, local, and accrediting agency requirements and standards by developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs, standard operating procedures, and survey readiness initiatives. Acts as a subject matter expert in healthcare facility codes and regulations to identify and meet all applicable requirements. Collaborates with internal departments, the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee, senior leadership, and regulatory bodies to align facility compliance with MetroHealth's clinical and operational goals. Fosters a safe, functional, and efficient physical environment and drives ongoing survey readiness. Supports mission-effective operations to enhance patient, employee, and visitor safety. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Meets one of the following:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, or another related field from an accredited institution with 2 years of related work experience.
  2. 6 years of related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of various laws and regulations as set forth by national, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with interpreting laws and regulations as set forth by related agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Ohio Basic Building Code (OBBC), the National Electric Code (NEC), the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Bureau of Underground Storage Tanks (BUSTR), etc.).
  • Ability to work with staff members, interdepartmental teams, and organizational leadership across the enterprise to effectively implement measures to comply with national, state, and local laws/regulations.
  • Experience working with Local and State Fire Marshals, The Joint Commission and CMS Physical Environment standards within a healthcare setting. Eligible for and working towards becoming a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) by the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM).
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication, organizational and training development skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (dashboards, graphs, reporting tools, and other software).
  • Willing and able to travel to all facilities within The MetroHealth System.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
