APP- Hematology/Oncology

Location: Main Campus (with potential coverage at Parma)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Call: No call requirement

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Hematology/Oncology team. This role delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across outpatient oncology, hematology, and supportive services within a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Experience:
  • Prior oncology or hematology experience
  • Chemotherapy management
  • Sickle cell disease management
  • Bone marrow biopsy procedures
  • Cell therapy or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience

Required:
  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio (RN + APRN Certificate of Authority for NPs; PA license for Physician Assistants)
  • National board certification in specialty area (APRN or NCCPA as applicable)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
  • Obtain advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire
  • Eligible for and obtains clinical privileges within the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System; must report to the Medical Staff Office at time of hire to initiate credentialing
  • Maintains required collaborative/supervisory agreements in accordance with Ohio law
  • For NPs: Maintains a Standard Care Arrangement as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing

Physical Demands:
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods
  • May require lifting and carrying items up to 30 pounds
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures (e.g., bone marrow biopsies, central line management)
  • Requires visual and auditory acuity necessary to assess patient condition and operate clinical equipment
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and chemotherapy agents
  • Requires ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
